چکیده

Introduction: Gastrointestinal infection is a major cause of morbidity worldwide. Culture and microscopy are time consuming have low diagnostic yield. New rapid molecular methods such as multiplex PCR recently been introduced for etiological diagnosis. The purpose this study was to compare the yield FilmArray gastrointestinal panel with that standard culture diagnosis infections. Materials methods: This retrospective carried out within Microbiology department Arrazi hospital CHU Mohamed VI, including all patients treated having required hospitalization in various departments Hospital VI Marrakech, over period 15 months. Results: During studied, 124 were sampled. All samples tested using stool FilmArray. detected significantly more positive samples, bacterial, viral and/or parasitic infections compared (57.3% vs 21%). Additionally, able detect pathogens implicated except Yersinia Enterocolitica, whereas could only three bacterial (E.coli, Salmonella Shigella). 52.11% had co-infections identified by PCR. Conclusions: GI showed very good performance gave detailed picture spectrum involved. Further studies needed determine whether improves patient outcomes reduces costs.
